County to Discuss Solid Waste Franchise, 2020 Master Plan Update and Dayton Swim Pool

County of Lyon issued the following announcement on August 13.

The Board of Commissioners has a busy few months ahead of them. The Board, earlier this year, passed an ordinance to move the second Board meeting of the month around the County. August 19, 2021, the Board will meet in Silver Springs at the Senior Center at 9:00 AM. The Board has also scheduled two workshops and Commissioner Gray has requested staff to conduct a Town Hall meeting in Dayton.

Solid Waste Disposal Franchise Workshop – The Board will meet on August 24, 2021, at 6:00 PM at the Silver Springs Senior Center to conduct a workshop on the Solid Waste Disposal Franchise Agreement. The Board will provide staff with guidance as to what the Board desires to have in the Franchise Agreement. The Board will be asked to provide direction on whether they want a single franchise for all disposal or multiple franchises for different services, mandatory refuse pickup or voluntary, recycling provisions, transfer station operations, etc. 

2020 Master Plan Update – The Board of Commissioners and the Planning Commission will hold a joint workshop on September 14, 2021, in Yerington to address the proposed 2020 Master Plan update. Dayton Town Hall to address options to build and operate a swimming pool in Dayton – September 8, 2021, at 6:30 PM at the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District Chambers Lyon County and Commissioner Ken Gray will conduct a Town Hall meeting to provide the community with options to finance and operate a swimming pool in Dayton.
