On January 5, 2026, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a bomb threat at Harrah’s Casino in Stateline, Nevada. The casino’s security team reported receiving a threatening phone call around 9:50 p.m.

The caller stated, “Yeah, I just lost over $20,000 at your stupid casino, and I am going to destroy it now. I am going to bomb it. This is a bomb threat.”

Authorities identified the caller as Seth Maybee of South Lake Tahoe. He was arrested at his residence by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department on January 6 at approximately 1:43 a.m. Maybee faces charges of making a bomb threat and making terroristic threats. He was booked into El Dorado County Jail and will be extradited to Douglas County, Nevada.

Sheriff Dan Coverley expressed appreciation for the swift action taken by both Harrah’s Casino staff and law enforcement partners. “I want to thank Harrah’s Casino for their quick reporting of this incident and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department for their assistance in the arrest of Maybee,” said Coverley. “Due to the history of the Harvey’s bombing in the early 1980s, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Stateline casinos take these threats very seriously. Fortunately, we were able to make an arrest before anything happened.”
