Douglas County Sheriff’s Office locates missing girl after public appeal

At approximately 7:03 a.m. on December 12, 2025, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a young girl riding a scooter southbound on Highway 395 near Silver City RV Park in Douglas County, Nevada. Deputies responded to the area and found the scooter but were unable to locate the child.

The missing girl was described as about nine years old, with light brown curly hair of shoulder length. She was last seen wearing a black mini skirt, an olive green backpack, Converse shoes, and no leggings or pants.

Authorities asked for public assistance in locating the child. The Sheriff’s Office requested that anyone with information contact their dispatch at 775-782-5126 or call 911.

Later in the morning, at 11:30 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the child had been found safe. In a statement, officials said: “The Sheriff’s Office thanks the public for its support, tips and leads.”
