There were 70 Pacific Islander students enrolled in Lyon County district in the 2024-25 school year, 9.1% less than the previous year, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

Data showed that Lyon County welcomed a total of 9,169 students during the 2024-25 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.8% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the county.

Lyon County School District was the only district in the county which enrolled Pacific Islander students in the 2024-25 school year.

Despite a sharp drop, chronic absenteeism in Nevada remains high. More than a quarter of students were chronically absent in the 2023-24 school year, up from 18.8% in the 2018-19 school year.

Nevada’s educational system ranked eighth-lowest in the U.S. for educational quality, student outcomes, and overall school safety, only ahead of Louisiana and Arizona, according to an analysis from the World Population Review.
