There were 3,171 white students enrolled in Douglas County district in the 2024-25 school year, 3% less than the previous year, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.
Data showed that Douglas County welcomed a total of 4,927 students during the 2024-25 school year. Among them, white students comprised 64.4% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the county.
Douglas County School District was the only district in the county which enrolled white students in the 2024-25 school year.
Despite a sharp drop, chronic absenteeism in Nevada remains high. More than a quarter of students were chronically absent in the 2023-24 school year, up from 18.8% in the 2018-19 school year.
Nevada’s educational system ranked eighth-lowest in the U.S. for educational quality, student outcomes, and overall school safety, only ahead of Louisiana and Arizona, according to an analysis from the World Population Review.
