Washoe County ranked seventh in state for resident earnings in 2017

Washoe County ranked seventh among counties in Nevada by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Washoe County residents was an inflation-adjusted $30,281 per year. Washoe County had 173,519 households in 2017, with a population of 445,551.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Eureka County. Eureka County's median income was $41,021 per year after adjusting for inflation – $10,740 more than Washoe County. It had 765 households in 2017 and a population of 1,728.

Nye County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Nevada, with a median income of only $22,444 per year. That was $7,837 less than the median income in Washoe County at the time. Nye County had 18,077 households in 2017 and a population of 43,296.
