Storey County ranked eighth in state for resident earnings in 2017

Storey County ranked eighth among counties in Nevada by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Storey County residents was an inflation-adjusted $28,854 per year. Storey County had 1,665 households in 2017, with a population of 3,891.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Eureka County. Eureka County's median income was $41,021 per year after adjusting for inflation – $12,167 more than Storey County. It had 765 households in 2017 and a population of 1,728.

Nye County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Nevada, with a median income of only $22,444 per year. That was $6,410 less than the median income in Storey County at the time. Nye County had 18,077 households in 2017 and a population of 43,296.
