Impaired Drivers and Riders

Police

Carson City issued the following announcement on October 20.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is Joining Forces with other Nevada Law Enforcement Agencies from October 28th through November 15th to enforce impaired driving/ riding laws and keep impaired drivers and riders off Nevada roadways.

Use of illicit drugs, alcohol or misuse of prescription medications can make operation of motor vehicles unsafe and it doesn’t take much.

Nevada Revised Statute 484c.110 makes it illegal to operate or be in actual physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of any controlled substance. This includes prescription medications.

Any injury or death caused by impaired motor vehicle operation is 100% preventable. Be smart, don’t do it.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to bringing the number of fatalities on our roadways to zero through increasing public awareness about the dangers of driving or riding under the influence of drugs and alcohol. More information about safe vehicle operation and the state’s Zero Fatalities goal is available online at www.ZeroFatalitiesNV.com.
