4

Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

November 7 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm|Free

Mike Kunz and Stephen Hipp, co-chairmen of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Veterans Dinner, announced that Nevada System of Higher Education Vice Chancellor of Workforce Development, Caleb Cage, will be the featured speaker at the Chamber’s 4th Annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner.  Mr. Cage will be attending the dinner with his family and the president of Western Nevada College, Dr. Vincent Solis.

The “Dayton Valley Golf Club Honors Our Veterans” event will be held at the Dayton Valley Golf Club on 101 Palmer Dr. on Sunday, November 7, 5pm. The plated dinner will be served free to local veterans and their guests.

Kunz, a US Navy veteran, and Hipp, a US Marine Corps veteran, noted that “the dinner gives us an opportunity as a community to recognize our veterans and their families and the sacrifice they made for our country. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Caleb Cage, a native Nevadan who graduated from the US Military Academy in  West Point and was commissioned as an artillery officer for the US Army, serving in Germany and Irag for over five years as our speaker.”

Additionally, there will be a free raffle for the veterans, a ceremonial cake cutting ceremony, and live music featuring the dulcet tones of saxophonist David Lewis.

Kunz and Hipp also noted that veterans from Moundhouse to Silver Springs are invited, but tickets are limited. Table sponsorships are available for $250 which will allow all veterans to attend for free. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Dayton Valley VFW Post 8660, and as a thank you to Mr. Cage, we will be making a donation to the veteran organization of his choice.

If you are a veteran in the Mound House to Silver Springs area, please call the Chamber office for tickets.
