City of Fernley Proposed Ward boundary changes

67

City of Fernley recently issued the following announcement.

On December 15 2021, Fernley City Council introduced Bill #305 as an Ordinance modifying Ward boundaries, based on the 2020 Census Population Count.

This Ordinance will be proposed for adoption at the January 5, 2022 Regular Fernley City Council Meeting.

The 2020 decennial census calculated the City's population at 23,083. Even though the difference between the largest ward and the smallest ward was 3.1%, the County precinct numbers exceed the 5% allowance and county precinct lines had to be modified.

This change in county precinct lines made it necessary to make changes to Wards 1, 2, 4 & 5.

For additional information or questions regarding the proposed Ward boundaries, please contact City Clerk staff at 775-784-9830 or cityclerk@cityoffernley.org
