The Virginia City Tourism Commission announced on April 7 that fourteen chartered buses, each carrying about fifty high school students, will visit Virginia City on Thursday, April 16. The students are expected to be in town from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The commission said this visit will likely bring increased foot traffic to the area during those hours. Merchants and local businesses are being alerted so they can plan ahead for the larger crowds.

According to the announcement, the group is comprised of high school students traveling together by bus for a day trip.

No additional background or details about the event were provided in the commission’s statement.

Local officials have not released further information regarding any special arrangements or changes to regular operations during this time.
