More than 20 years of providing a fun-filled day has made the Western Nevada College Foundation’s Golf for Education Tournament one that attracts regular and eager participants.
Entry into the Friday, Sept. 30 scramble tournament at Toiyabe Golf Club includes so much more than 18 holes of golf. Participants will be treated to a light breakfast, great tee prizes, hole-in-one and long drive prizes, ample on-course refreshments, raffle prizes, an opportunity to shoot the powerful golf ball cannon, a delicious BBQ, an awards ceremony, team photos, and so much more.
The tournament begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $150 per player, $550 per four-player team or $850 for a business team sponsorship. Lunch for a non-golfing guest is $30.
Participants’ entry fees help strengthen workforce development in the Sierra Region. The tournament provides businesses and golfers the chance to help WNC students pursue degrees and certifications, as well as showcase their own company and enjoy the excitement and camaraderie of competing in a team format.
There are different ways and levels that businesses can sponsor the event. For businesses that sponsor a team, their company name will appear on the event banner and program, they’ll be recognized at the BBQ, they’ll receive two tee signs and a spot for a quartet of players in the tournament.
