Storey County had four Hispanic or Latino individuals incarcerated in the first quarter of 2025, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

This is the same amount as the quarter before.

Andrew John Fernandez, a 27-year-old Hispanic or Latino man, was the youngest inmate in Storey County in the first quarter of 2025.

Overall, local jails in the county had 10 people incarcerated as of the first quarter of 2025.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 610 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world — except for the United States.
